Garritan personal orchestra 5 will not unzip full version#
Or then EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Platinum which is older but supposedly better and more deeply sampled (has round robins).Īt this point I'd be happy with 70 USD for the full version of Philharmonik 2 which is about half what I paid and I'll lose extra ~€25 due to the license transfer fees. I'd probably rather get Amadeus since the workflow seems much better, however I dont think it has any round robins. It's not totally useless but you won't fool people into thinking it's a real orchestra. there aren't enough round robin samples so you a machine gun effect. The lack of true legato doesn't help and if you do repetitive string spiccatos etc. I'd say it kinda reminds me of older videogame samples.

Personally, I am leaning towards either EastWest or Amadeus, but I really don't know what the best choice for me would be. So my question is: Which one of these can you recommend the most to a total beginner? I would definitely like to have something that can still be used as I make some progress. I would just like to have a nice orchestral VST as part of my music arsenal which I can use to musically realize whatever ideas come to my mind. I likely can't hear the difference between scripted and true legato and would probably also not recognize how many or if any round robins are used - all the audio samples on the websites of these libraries sound really good to me. Then again, I'm a total beginner to all of this: I can barely read notes and have no education in classical music whatsoever. GPO5 apparently has some mediocre sounds, EastWest and Miroslav are apparently very old, and none of these libraries have true legato, it seems. I have heard good and bad things for all of these libraries.
